Home again

Ferry from Larne to Cairnryan and then the marathon drive back to Sheffield. All went well. Arrived to find swifts still in the sky and the incomparable, improbable chocolate cosmos still flowering in the garden. There are also ripe plums and blueberries and blackberries. The squirrels are still nibbling the few figs that they didn't dispatch earlier in the year. A garden challenge I have yet to resolve.
All this is a comforting escape from the continuing covid scenario and all its uncertainties.
