Day trip to Glasgow and went for a walk round my old haunt of Pollok Park. One of my friends lived right in the heart of the park beside the Burrell Collection in the 70s, in fact I remember it being built and worried the rabbits and foxes would fall into the massive crater like foundations. The park itself felt smaller and messier whether that’s a reflection of Covid or the councils finances it felt a tad sad. As did the drive out to Newton Mearns past sledging fields now housing estates, the old family wood where all my old pets are buried.. a monstrosity of a house looking like a bank and the farm where we walked for milk? A Miller and Carter!!!.
Nostalgia hurts
However we had a lovely evening with my nephew and new wife in their new house, watched their wedding video from last October and remarked on the quaint habits of people chatting closely, kissing, hugging and god forbid, dancing.

Caught this fabulous sunset on the Kingston Bridge and then on the way into Edinburgh a very strange set of lights in the clouds which first thought was a UFO, spooked , then the aurora borealis, thrilled.. went to find a good vantage spot and N googled it. Damn, just the cancelled Edinburgh Festival laser lights, exciting but less so than the first two possibilities.
