LD 138 Lost Stock arrives...

Yesterday's blip was about long made plans coming to fruition.

Today's is about a briefer period of time but hopefully also about  some big impacts.

During lockdown Cailean had the idea  of trying to help garment workers in Bangladesh who had been left without income as a result of cancelled orders from leading brands.  These concerns arose in part form the work he already does on the fashion side through his company Mallzee.

Cathleen and I were amongst the first to order "Lost Stock"  at the very start of the initiative, some 12 weeks ago and today my package arrived.   Incredibly they have been able to put in place a whole international supply and delivery chain in that time which is now getting into its stride.

They have already sold over 100,000 units which means they have been able to help over 100,000 families, as each box sold provides funds to feed a family for a week.   Many more need help though.

It was not only a great pleasure to see the idea coming  to life and  now to  find such good clothes within the package, but it is  also very gratifying to know that this work is helping those  whose well being and future is being put  at risk by  just one of the many crises caused by the continuing COVID pandemic.

By a happy coincidence he was here today when the post arrived, so he got to see the opening, and receive the thanks of this grateful customer, who also happens to be his proud Dad,
