Tomato Excitement

Peter is worried this little fungi will rot his tomato plants but I think it’s spores would’ve been in the compost we used which is fibrous and mulch-like. Hopefully the fungi will feed on the rotting wood rather than the tomatoes.

I think it’s a Sheathed Woodtuft, Kuehneromyces mutablis. A bigger one in extras shows two distinct colours, the centre of the cap being much paler.

It was scorchio again today and I didn’t go out out, just lazed in the garden, so lucky these fungi provided my blip.
