Fishin'

Vacation Day #8 - Slow start but eventually made our way back to the cottage early afternoon. I had a nice trip alone with my dad. We were able to talk seriously for a bit and reminisce about mom. He finds that he is lonely even when surrounded by us all. They were married 57 years and almost 4 months when mom died last December. The isolation of Covid for many months didn't help, but I believe he will never fully recover. He does smile and laugh more and he has his whistle back. My dad is known to whistle a tune much of the day, especially when concentrating on a task. For many months he did not whistle.

T and J left for Michigan for a couple days with the grooms family, then the return flight to London on Wednesday.

The rest of my family joined us at the cottage shortly after we arrived as we stopped for groceries. Fresh veggies at a local farm and the rest at the store on the way.
Baily decided to re-live catching "dock fish" as they called the little fish they could catch off the dock. Miya was a great help.
More boat rides, but no water activity today. The weather cooled greatly, high of 70ºF and chilly at night. Campfire weather for sure. Extra photo is my dad.
