Dunnock

This unspectacular little bird caught in the early light of dawn atop the bird feeder, tweeting its heart out and not too bothered by my presence. The dunnock is a passerine, or perching bird and is the most widespread member of the accentor family, which otherwise consists of mountain species. Usually I only see it feeding on the ground.
