A Curiosity

This Blipfoto was taken holding up an optical instrument to the lens of my iPhone.

It is a beautifully finished hardwood tube with a "fisheye" lens at  one end and an eyepiece at the other. There are no moving parts.

The image viewed in the eyepiece changes wherever you look and creates a faceted image. Change the viewpoint and the image changes.

My "Greek" daughter gave it to me as a birthday present.

A very pleasant sunny Sunday having lunch in the garden and just reading a book. "The Lighthouse Stevensons".

Pat then made some devilish gin cocktails and I slept through the F1 Grand Prix, waking up in time to watch Downton Abbey.
