Red admiral

Another lovely sunny day with lots of butterflies flitting about in the garden. I had hoped to get a shot of a Scotch argus as there were more of them than anything else but they just wouldn't stay still for long enough. It was very frustrating. However, my patience was rewarded by this beautiful Red admiral which landed on a leaf nearby when I wasn't looking but waited long enough for me to notice it AND to take a photograph of it. This was a real treat as I haven't seen one since last summer
