If you can't beat them...

Sidalcea "Elsie Heugh"

My usual slow start on a Sunday was followed by a day of pottering.  While on the patio the flowers of the Sidalcea caught my eye.

Also known as Prairie Mallow it flowers for most of the summer.  Being perennial it sits happily and comes back each year.  Apparently it doesn't like the wet, but as we live on the edge of the Lake District we haven't told it.  So far it has survived our weather.  We didn't consider when we bought it but fortunately it is a good source of nectar and pollen.
