Time for a brew?

It was 34c inland, high tide at Dymchurch was 17.21. It seemed an ideal time for another trip to the seaside for lunch, a walk and a late afternoon swim.

And so it turned out. We were fortunate to find a parking space in a packed carpark. We had lunch sitting on a bench overlooking a well populated and orderly beach enjoying a coffee to go with the fresh bread, cheese, pickle and loads of salad bits.

From there we walked along the sandy beach to New Romney, then along the sea wall back to Dymchurch. A quick change and into the water as it was coming up to high tide. I was like getting into a warm bath. Beautiful, we pottered for quite a while enjoying floating and frolicking in the water.

We rounded off the day with a cup of tea and slice of tea cake on the steps overlooking the beach. Idyllic. And it provided today’s blip.

Still sitting outside at 10.00pm after dinner with the temperature is still 23c, looking up at the stars and enjoying the generally peaceful evening apart from when the serenity is punctured by the occasional raucous laughter from an individual at a get together at one of our neighbours.
