Sandy Spits & Pearly Shells

We all took Esme to her nursery this morning, about a 20 minute drive out of Takaka. This stunning beach is about 5 minutes away so we made the best of the sunshine and did a walk. The tide was way way out revealing sandy spits and pearly shells. There were masses of elegant white screechy birds out on the furthest spit, possibly white-fronted terns. We could have walked for miles, possibly to Collingwood but we returned.

And thanks for the comments on yesterday's fame - oddly no paparazzi camped outside my door.

You have probably heard that New Zealand is back in lockdown, 4 people having the virus in Auckland and no one quite sure how. Auckland has gone into Level 3 and the rest of the country is in Level 2. It was life as normal in Takaka but the supermarket was packed and yes, flour, bread and frozen veg looking a bit scarce on the shelves. All fine on the loo paper front. We're a little apprehensive about our flights next week, it could go all pear-shaped, fingers firmly crossed.
