Blizzard? What Blizzard?

The wonderful thing about being in NYC when there is a huge snow fall is that the fast paced hustle bustle of the workaday world comes to a screeching halt and everyone dons their winter gear, grabs their snow shoes, cross country skis, sleighs and heads to their local park. Our local park is Prospect Park, designed by Frederick Law Olmstead who also designed Central Park. They are both lovely but quite different from one another. (This is when pzap, a landscape architect, should chime in and provide more color to my blip!) Ron and I walked up to the park to check out the action and we weren't disappointed. Children squealing with delight...others asking to be carried home in the arms of their parents...wet, tired and ready for hot cocoa! Rather than post a picture of the local snow sports I decided to capture the sun beaming down on the winter quiet that fell, along with the snow, on certain portions of the park. We did not get slammed the way CT and MA did...but we are happy for the bit we did get. based on the layer of snow on top of the car it seems like we had about 10 inches. The temperature has gone up and the snow is already beginning to melt!
