The Wharf, Calne
The Wharf marks the terminus of the Calne branch of the disused Berks & Wilts canal, and this final stretch is also the course of the River Marden, which disappears under the main road at the crossroads. There are now buildings where both the car park and the green space beyond the road opposite to it are. In fact the yellow digger is already hinting at what is to come. The tall spired building is the Town Hall.
