Day in the Dales

Rebecca made a brilliant picnic with all our favourite foods and we set off up the Dales.
We had a plan of where we wanted to go but it all depended on how many other people had the same idea.
We turned left at Buckden and stopped between Hubberholme and Beckermonds.
We parked up by the river, pleased that two others with the same idea were about 100 metres away.
The weather was much cooler than yesterday with lots of low cloud but we were suitably dressed.
Really enjoyed the substantial spread.
It was so good just to listen to the silence.
Kitty and Verity both had a quick paddle , Ruby couldn’t be tempted.
After a couple of hours we packed up as the cloud was getting lower.
Instead of coming back the same way we drove on to Hawes which was very busy so no stopping . We passed Aysgarth which was busy too.
Came back home through Kettlewell and got in just before the rain started.
Still full hours later so we are eating the leftovers for supper.
Just hope l have room for my scone with jam and cream that l couldn’t manage earlier.

Was very surprised this evening to see the Department of Education had chosen a photograph of Verity on one of their online posts. We’ve seen this photograph before around Ilkley, it’s one that her school asked her to be in. See extra.
