Dawn

I was glad to have set my alarm as, from my tent (on top of Ben Heasgarnich), I experienced a fabulously beautiful moment as the sun rose above the cloud inversion. After that it was a decent morning in the hills as I completed the round of Loch Lyon via Beinn Mhanach [see extras]. I even managed a skinny dip to freshen up before the drive home.

On the way, I encountered the Highland cows again [see extra], and stopped off at Fortingall to see the yew. I was reminded of Dr Johnson's view of the Giants Causeway: "Worth seeing, but not worth travelling to see".
