Once every 24 hours or so it gets dark

I'm in tidying mode: the straggly tomato plants, the indoor shed, the computer filing. And I'm eating almost nothing apart from a surfeit of locally grown apples and lettuce with the odd nod to exotically produced protein: eggs from 5 miles away, yogurt from 'England' and sunflower seeds from, ahem, China. Should have spotted those food miles earlier.

My attempted repairs of a beloved old radio (bought in 1985 so I could pick up distant radio stations when living near the equator) and a stalwart laser printer (much younger - 1999) sadly came to naught. Still, who needs a radio if you've got a 'phone'? Even printers are a lot less use now than then.
