Limited Birdsong

The birds are completing their moult so tend to skulk out of sight. Chiffchaffs which, including the one in my image, sang their name incessantly in the spring just say, "Weet" now. Robins sing all year round and one was holding forth this morning from this elderberry bush. I've heard a thrush singing occasionally too. Ollie dog and I hear the pair of tawny owls when we go on our last walk of the day at around 9:00 pm.  The female owl says, "Ke-wick" and he hoots "Tu-wooooo".

I've added an image of a willow emerald spreadwing damselfly that we found on brambles in Butterfly Alley to extras.
