Crumple

I met up with Elizabeth and Amy in the new modern community (housing estate) of Eddington, in west Cambridge, built on land once occupied by the University Farm. We had coffee and cake on the edge of a cricket pitch, whilst Elizabeth’s one-year old daughter located and tried to eat every bottle top and fag end within a 200-metre radius.

I cycled with Amy towards her gaff in Histon, north of Cambridge, where we imbibed more coffee and discussed woke topics next to the duck pond. Outside the Histon Co-op, this crumpled bike rack was spotted. I circulated the image to a few pals and theories range from ‘being rammed by a car’ to ‘attempted wrenching of the rack from the ground’. Investigations are inconclusive and the mystery remains.
