Kelvin

An afternoon walk along the River Kelvin Walkway from Auchinstarry, Kilsyth towards Twechar.

Usually when we do this walk with the Ramblers we cut up to the Forth and Clyde Canal at Twechar and return to Auchinstarry that way, but I didn't go as far as the Canal; instead I retraced my steps when I reached the end of the marked walkway (the sudden hailstorm wasn't a factor, honest, although it didn't help) and turned left to walk around Dumbreck Marsh Nature Reserve before rejoining the route of the former mineral railway that's now defined as the aforementioned walkway.

Took this photo towards the end of my walk, looking north towards the Kilsyth Hills.
