Friday Completed

The heat has certainly taken its toll on the flowers in the side garden, but this resilient daylili has sprung up for another day or so.

The orange always catches my attention, especially against the green. I wonder if the colour is more brilliant in places that are beneath snow six months of the year. Maybe they try harder, knowing the bleakness of midwinter. Like they owe us something.

Today was a day of finishing up. Organizing an outdoor service as well as an online one each week certainly requires more time. But because a few of the days this week were so full, today was a day of completing tasks.

We needed to go to town today to run an errand or two, so we went out for a bite to eat. A nice break.

Lauralea had been given a commission by the local pharmacist who heard she was making the masks for our daughters wedding. She asked Lauralea to sew her some, so the masks were made and we went to deliver them at Safeway where she works.

Then we bought some more Certo and salt for making jam and pickles, and we were off home.

Tonight a bit of Poirot on TV then an early night of it.

Friday completed.
