Hole 1, par 5

This is the fourth in my series of sport in the Australian outback. Today is golf's turn. At Wanaaring Golf Course in far western NSW the first hole is 408m long with a par of 5.

Wanaaring is situated on the Paroo River, about 980 kilometres from Sydney, and 180 km west of Bourke.  This is very remote territory. Wanaaring has a population of 140 and golf is a popular sport.
