Psalmist with a camera

Net Profits!

Down along the shoreline
In serried ranks aglow
The fishing nets lie idle
They've nowhere else to go

Over on the breakers
The diggers whine and whirl
A fishing hub begins to rise
The new Jumeirah Pearl

I wonder what the fishermen will think of their new pad
Will they be suitably impressed...maybe even glad!

Or will they stare in disbelief
And wonder at the fuss
Recounting days of long ago
When it was 'only us!'

For now there stretches far and wide
A harbour, mall and dock
Some flats, some rooms, some shops, some spas
A brand new toilet block

"We used to land our catch right here
Upon this sandy shore
But now its destined for the quay
We'll land it here no more"

"We used to make a living once
But think those days are through
Net profits now won't be so great
Once we have paid our due!"

Time and tide waits for no man
