Snoring

I drag myself downstairs at 11 and brew a cup of tea. Stuart arrives at midday and people begin to surface.

Bagels, cream cheese, smoked salmon, bacon, eggs cordon bleu. We’re all a bit the worse for wear, but Tony retreats under his turquoise sleeping bag. Soon, gentle muffled snores can be heard.

I take the 101 to Dolphinton and walk the needle, through a dry dusk, sky pressing in from every angle.

Megan is home alone. We watch Drugstore Cowboy featuring the one and only William S Burroughs.
