Havgull - will travel

A better day today with a reasonable chance of sunshine, so Mrs M, Daughter Two and I decided on a beach picnic, but on the way to Cuil Bay I spotted my old friend 'Havgull' closing on Connel Bridge, so had to make a quick detour to catch her under the bridge. She was no doubt steaming up to the fish farm in Loch Etive.

Cuil was rather different from our last visit six weeks ago. Instead of largely cars there were many campervans parked along the verge and the folk coming along behind us drove off the road onto the grass with a trailer and turned it into a summerhouse!! Further down were two white vans with a party of hippies who had set up a table with amplifier and were plucking guitars and enjoying a smoky bonfire - see extra.

We found a secluded spot behind the gorse bushes where we could pretend we were the only folk there and enjoyed a picnic followed by a walk over to the other side of the bay which was pretty quiet.

Limerick of the Day:

A biologist from Brisbane, Australia,
Crossed a koala bear with a dahlia.
But the thing he invented
Was appallingly scented,
And the tree-climbing trials were a failure!
