Home

It has been a long time since we used the M6 to travel south, as we have over the last few years usually been travelling south east using the A1. So it was a novelty in a way to be on the the M6 and remembering how, after the horrors of the motorway through the Midlands (actually not too bad today), the further north you get the pleasanter the M6 becomes. Then there comes a point at which the hills make their presence felt and we know we are almost home. Of course it is also always sunny as you enter Cumbria!

At long last today we were able to stop at 'Gloucester Services' and experience the civilised version of a motorway service station

We are now home and I will be catching up with everyone.
