Sgwarnog: In the Field

Loose

An afternoon walk down to the woods revealed what seemed to be new broods of Small Tortoiseshell and Comma - at least I was able to see half a dozen of each in a small area. Peacock, Speckled Wood, Green-veined White, Small White and lots of Silver-Y were also about in the meadow. Southern Hawker (extra), Brown Hawker and Common Darter were representing team dragonfly.

Back in the Community Garden this Holly Blue was enjoying the Willow-leaved Loosestrife. This one seemed very pale - almost the same shade as Humbrol's duck-egg blue that I painted on the underside of many an Airfix airoplane model in my youth.
