Monday wander

A strange yellow ball in the sky today - sunshine after a number of dull, grey and wet days!  Friend H texted to see if I wanted to meet her for a coffee at the Ivy Kitchen - didn’t need asking twice - so good to get out!  Lots of children being dropped off at the gate to Coppice Pond, but we had a wander round the lake and it was fairly quiet.  As we reached the feeding station there was nobody else around.  The adult swan was confident enough to be hand fed, but I’m always wary of those strong beaks!  After coffee H went off home and I went off for a longer walk.  Lots of blackberries around and I managed to fill my tub.  Met our church choirmaster on the homeward stretch - nice to have a chat after months of not seeing him.  Noticed an old gateway in the middle of the brook which I had never seen before (extras) - amazing how you can walk around a place for years and still see something new!  Once home, decided to cut the hedge - delicate balancing act on a ladder with a hedge trimmer - got a telling off from son when he arrived home from work! He then cut the grass, so some progress made, but much more still to do! Certainly no longer bored today, although the forecast for the rest of the week is not inspiring!
