Mostly Six Five Oh

Monday/Tuesday morning

Very smoky all day until about 4:30 p.m. when a clearer pocket* opened up above us.  This is looking north and taken from Edgewood Road going past the Puglas Ridge Preserve/Edgewood Park.  (All Bay Area parks are closed).  Some cheering news about Big Basin and the redwoods surviving.  I hope we start to get more of these little bits of good news to keep us going.

Tuesday morning and smoke covering us again.

The (8/25) 6 a.m. briefing on the CZU fire was also a bit more positive.  17% contained, 78,869 acres burned, 330 structures destroyed, 200,000 gallons of water dropped.  Weather has been cooperating and all the lines put in are holding well.  It was a quiet Monday night for other activity and people are heeding warnings and staying out of the evacuation zones.
