Goodbye

Phoned the big boss this morning cutting out a few layers of management in order to arrange a couple of days leave at short notice, I've agreed to use a couple of days holiday if needed but he made it clear to just go and do what I needed to do and not fret over work.

Spoke to brother early AM and arrived at his a couple of hours later, he is broken but putting on a brave face, a phone call from hospital advised end of life care would proceed within 24 hours and advised that family could visit ICU to say goodbye. Had a discussion with kids and Kyle was adamant he wanted to see his aunty Irene to say goodbye whilst Kaitlyn chose to remember her the last way we saw her. My brother was busy most of the visit with hospital admin signing paperwork for organ release if they can find suitable donors.

Kyle held up well during the visit although he wasn't prepared for the equipment that surrounded her bed, there was tears and laughter as I spoke to her telling her everyone was asking for her and she was making some fuss as usual.

Underneath the bravado im hurting for my brother and his situation...he's not in an easy place and has to be back tomorrow for removal of care then he will be coming over to ours for a few days before returning to take care of arrangements.
