Autumn Approaches

A couple of days ago I woke up and opened the blind onto another sunny day, but my eyes were immediately drawn to a golden patch in the otherwise green wall of leaves.  The first sign of summer drawing to a close and autumn moving in.
Today there were more of these patches on some of the trees, including the birch pictured here.

Our friends S and B arrived today from the south of Sweden. We have known them since 1980 and they have been very hospitable to us many times, so it feels good to have them back to our house so we can return the hospitality to some small degree.
