Mountain Leader Training, day 3

A swap around of groups, and then out and up into the steeper stuff.
Lots of discussion of personal competence and how to assess what's right for others. Again a really good strong display from all of the team - but especially the youngsters who really stepped up in their focus and attention to others. Leadership and confidence can be hard won for many, it's always great to see those things begin to blossom.
Most people think this day is about ropes- and sure, they will definitely come out at some point. But really it's about planning and the need to adjust. A good leader will focus just as much on challenging the ones who need or want that as they do in supporting those who are closer to the boundaries of either comfort, confidence or ability.

Today the group found just the right balance. Did we get wet feet? Yes. Did one of us fall over. Yes. Did we have an adventure where everyone participated and got something from it? Yes.
We learn best when it's fun.

Ps: one of today's participants is a blipper. I bet you can guess which.
