Majors Lake

The threatened rain made its appearance this afternoon just after I’d finished the final bit of work connecting the new shed guttering to the down pipe, rainwater diverter and through a pipe into the pond.

The heavy rain soon poured out of the pipe into the pond, so much so that the pond skaters were seen wearing life jackets. See the extra for the evidence and many thanks to Knottman2 for pointing me to this solution.

To beat the rain we went for our walk this morning, passing by several heavily laden damsons trees which will repay a further visit. Majors Lake looked tranquil and was being enjoyed by a solitary fisherman nicely framed by surrounding trees.

We picked up a bag of apples from outside a house on our way home and more were given to us yesterday. Some preserving to be done tomorrow. Another 2kg of tomatoes picked. Some have simmered to produce a thick sauce for this weekend’s aubergine bake on Saturday night - one of our favourite meals
