The Crossing

Pottered about this morning doing lots of nothing much then took myself off for a wander and some shopping before the expected storm arrived. Arrived home 10 seconds before the rain (amazing, almost never happens) armed with wood glue, milk, an omelette pan, horse treats. A fairly eclectic mixture.
Do you fancy making a zwetschgendatschi?says S after I’ve sat down. OK, the first rain has eased a bit and I head out again to buy a couple of kilos of plums (and some cinnamon just in case we’re running low after all those apple tarts) but in a rare moment of lucidity take a brolly. It’s needed too as the storm really kicks in. The farmers will be happy but with drought all over Germany there may be a forest of trees coming down. Hope not.
Friday night, so it’s quiz night and I’ve made up a special quiz just for Gwen with questions on Forres Mechanics and Wallace & Gromit. The cunning plan works as D&G take a runaway lead and just hang on during JacktheLad‘s second, more traditional, round. Victory for Kingussie and a piccolo is popped in celebration!
