Togetherness

Cold, grey and damp when we finally emerged this morning - didn't set the alarm clock last night and we both slept for almost 10 hours! MrM spent most of the day in the workshop, and did a little more of the woodwork in the hall, while I attempted to be a domestic goddess. When the weather cleared in the afternoon I spent half an hour in the yard, dead-heading mainly. Most of the plants look a bit sorry for themselves after so much heavy rain over the last few days, and lack of sun. Still unseasonably cold, and 30 minutes was quite enough!

We gave in a lit the wood burner again this evening. The cold cider in the fridge will wait for warmer weather; we indulged in a warming whisky instead!

These two seem to spend a lot of the time on the chimney pots on the house opposite our flat. (Though before the wind died down this morning, they huddled on the roof top, feathers ruffled!) From there they have an uninterrupted view of the whole area. Sometimes they spend a little time on our chimney, and we can hear them chattering. Always together...
