Break the rules.

Day 30: Break the rules #30DaysofComposition

Now you know the rules, go ahead and break them. Put things in the middle of the frame. Don't have eye contact. Make things overlap. Have a foreground that's too big But do it deliberately, for a reason - because you think it makes a better shot.

Hopefully this shot shows how the rules of composition have been broken- the Celtic cross is in the centre of the shot with the Tay Bridge in the background.

It’s a really beautiful cross, with very intricate carving and deserves centre stage.

I’ve really enjoyed this challenge ( amazed myself that I actually completed it) and hopefully I will use the skills I’ve been practising, in future photos.

We left our holiday home near Dundee this morning and drove the eight hours home to Wiltshire. It was lovely to see family on the West Coast at the beginning of the week ( LomondLad’s new puppy being the highlight!) and seeing some of the sights of the East Coast too.

Couple of extras of the boatyard near the house.
