Sunny Sunday....

A dry sunny start , so loaded up the grain dryer and spent the day finishing off the last of the winter barley.
It started to cloud over around lunch time but it has stayed dry all day.
The farm we get straw from phoned to say they had started cutting spring barley this afternoon. It was coming off the combine at 20 % moisture , so not overly dry. Checked the straw tonight but it was barely ready to bale so will need to risk it until tomorrow.
Went to feed the cattle down the road then nipped along the road to see my combine contractor who was busy cutting their own spring barley. They are only about 8 miles away but it is a lot drier down with them. Ho hum .The joys of living in the hills !
