August Bank Holiday. OK, have your last fling and then b*gger off!

It seems to have been a long summer holiday, it's been going on since mid June rather than the usual July time when school holidays usually bring the crowds. We do have a longer season of course with the greyer holiday makers but they're not so noisy or messy and they don't bring all those kids to run about. Schools are back this week, hooray, which is good unless you need to get about at school run time.

I know I'm sounding unreasonable but life (and photographic opportunities) seem so much better when it's easier to get about without all that traffic blocking our coastal roads. Dartmoor becomes more accessible too. it's not that Dartmoor ever gets crowded, it's the parking places that are more of an issue.

Anyway, being a bank holiday I wasn't going to go far and fortunately I saw a tractor working in one of the fields by the river. I investigated and found the best viewpoint was from this side of the road, up on a bank.

It's been a lovely day but it clouded over a little this afternoon.
