Another day, another butterfly

It was a beautiful sunny day today and I managed to get two lots of washing done and dried and more gardening done. It was nice to see this speckled wood butterfly on the blackberries peeking over my fence from the field. I'll do the ironing whilst watching the tennis, an out of sorts Andy Murray is on court at the moment and not doing well, he looks restricted in his movement and very flat. An excellent win for Cam Norrie yesterday, beating the No.8 seed Schwartzman.

Day 170 / Full Day 162 of Lockdown / Day 60 of Step 3 (for my record only)
UK deaths up 3 to 41,504 (revised basis), with new daily cases up by 1,295 and 764 patients in hospital (not sure I believe the hospital no's as the same for 4 days and not every nation reports each day). Russia passes 1m total cases to date, but is only reporting 17,299 deaths. Glasgow has reintroduced visiting restrictions as 43% of the 314 new cases in Scotland over the last two days have been from the Greater Glasgow and Clyde area. School attendance is Scotland is down to 84.5%, but only about a fifth is thought to be Covid related. Bolton had seen a rise in infections and Bolton Council has asked the Govt to keep restrictions in place a day before they were due to be lifted. An educational research organisation is reporting that pupils in England are 3 months behind in their studies and that boys and poor pupils are the most affected.
