A grand day out in Durham

Early start to take the Motorhome to the dealers for the 9am drop off. Traffic was light and we made it with time to spare.

Van handed over and courtesy car collected and we headed off into Durham city centre. Short stop en route to allow Mr PHL to visit a model shop for some paints and teeny tiny brushes.

Durham was gorgeous in the sunshine and I couldn’t choose a single photograph so hope you don’t mind the collage. Had a lovely tour through the cathedral (I do love a vaulted ceiling!) before heading down to the riverside and walking part of the riverside walk. Nice to see some groups rowing and very glad the couple who decided to swap towers mid river didn’t end up in the water when they both stood up at once!

Back to the dealer for 4pm to collect the van and we were on the road by 4.30 and home by just after 7.

Emptied the van and went to sit on the sofa for a few minutes and managed to rip my trousers right across the back of one leg - rats! They’re a few years old and I love them, so soft and comfortable but sadly no more. Added photo in extras for comedic effect of the rip!
