Quod oculus meus videt

Firstly, many thanks for the kindness given to yesterday's post.  It was a pleasure to have been out to capture the sunrise and I appreciate the reception given to the shot.

I spent most of the day on small DIY projects, which turned into bigger ones in each case.  A replacement toilet seat should have been a relatively simple job, save for a bolt's resistance to being unscrewed.  In the end I had to saw the offending piece of metal in half to remove it.

Then it was replacing the door locks on the conservatory doors.  Our friends were recently broken into and we were amazed at the ease with which the thieves entered their property by breaking the lock in the UPVC side door.  Apparently it only requires a screwdriver and some brute force to overcome older locks and can be achieved in 15 seconds.  Anyway, I checked our doors and they had the older locks on as well so I've replaced them with more modern, 'anti-snap' locks.  Again, what should have been a simple replacement took longer as the door mechanism seized up, so I had to remove the whole of the assembly, grease and ease it and then put it back together.

In the end I just had the chance to use the extension tubes and take a photograph of flowers L's mum had bought for her as a thank you for the recent 80th party celebrations.  The framing is again the 6 by 17.
