Possession - 9/10ths of the law

A motorbike trip with Incredibish saw us take in the viewing day for a guitar and musical instrument auction taking place this weekend.  Given his choice of one "free" guitar from the room, Bish actually chose a Fender Coronado Bass rather than this rather fine Gibson Les Paul Triumph Bass, but to be honest I think he would have gone away with a fine Ian Anderson poster, and a multitude of  instruments, including an upright double bass, several electric bass guitars  and an electronic drum kit, if he had thought that he only:

1.  had the room at home to store them all, and (most importantly);

2.  could get my sister Happy_Janwen to not skin him alive in the process.

You may notice that the Les Paul bass had been converted to fretless which would scare the life out of me, as a guitarist I need my frets, but Bish can cope without such namby pamby safety nets and laughs in the face of a challenge like this.

As it is, although possession may be 9/10ths of the law, after our little thought experiment Bish had to give back his bass of choice - there is no such thing as a free lunch after all.
