A Day In The Life

Make My Brown Eyes Blue

After a few errands this morning we drove a little further north along the Kennebec River in search of birds or something interesting to blip • We were rewarded with a Great Blue Heron foraging on the river’s edge for a fish dinner. They are large wading birds that mostly eat fish and frogs, whole. Their wingspan is near 6’ and they do migrate from Maine in the Fall, but return again in April • This heron made two failed attempts at catching something, and was still silently and slowly pursuing a third when I left • It’s a beautiful day, a bit warmer than the last few, with little wind. Here, in the US it’s a long holiday weekend, with Labor Day on Monday. Yet another sign that Fall is coming • Stay safe everyone, and happy weekend!
