How To Save £2000

I've spent much of the day up a ladder saving money. As part of our en suite refurb we were going to replace the ageing roof light, until we found out how much it would cost. There is nothing really wrong with it, apart from the fact that it looked a bit tatty with the original varnish peeling off and muck and moss on the outside. I've managed to clean the outside and have rubbed down the internal wood and so far put a couple of coats of primer/undercoat on. The cost so far is nothing really, as I already had the sand paper, primer and brush. It looks better painted white (why have we waited 23 years to do this?) and will look like new when it's finished with a topcoat tomorrow. It will probably start leaking shortly after the en suite is done.
