Sanctuary

It's now 18 months since I my garden was planted. I always envisaged that it could (and should) be sanctuary. That's what it's become.

My kowhai haven't flowered this spring. They're still recovering from being decimated in autumn by a native caterpillar. Hopefully I've sorted the soil height against their trunk so they're more in balance with nature.

The native kaka beak (Clianthus) on the right and Australian Leptospermum Coral Candy (manuka in NZ) back left, are coming into bloom.

I've shifted stuff, trimmed, tidied and high hopes that it would be raining by now. My greater hope is that my enthusiasm hasn't sent my back and hip backwards. :-(

Today's gratitude: For my Dad.
