Canoodling Doves

Its been a grey and stormy day and we didn’t go out at all.

We’ve had the doves nesting on the roof top garden again and today was the day for the two babies to fledge.  It was a bit of a process with the first one getting caught up in some cobwebs and landing on the ground and not moving for ages. Eventually I went and picked it up and put it up on one of the tables as I didn’t want Toto to interfere!  From there it finally moved to the wooden railings and stayed there until the storm arrived. One image in extras of the doting parents seemingly worried and not really knowing what to do. The other baby virtually did the same thing.  Unfortunately I think they both may have gotten caught in the wind as the storm came through and have disappeared.  The parents are still here looking around and calling the baby call to no avail.

The main shot is the parents canoodling and murmuring with their eyes closed for ages together after the first baby left the nest, it was a sweet sight and I’m glad I caught a few shots ;o) (Check it out in Large).
