Intriguing entrances

I went back to Packwood House, formerly one of my favourite NT properties.

Now tickets are easier to come by, and they are panicking less about non renewals, they aren’t as thoughtful about the visitors.

They are still not in the league of the car park attendant at Dunham Massey or the bossy bloke at Hidcote, but they were markedly less friendly.

But I was lucky. Glorious blue skies when I arrived (they soon went) and it was quiet enough to enjoy this glorious Warwickshire estate.

The house has been added to, restored, changed and all the rest, but some of these doors just fire the imagination.
