Ganoderma australe

Growing just into the wood at the end of our garden. A magnificent specimen, nearly 2ft across. Not good news for the mighty beech tree though, it starts life as a parasitic fungus but as it causes white heart rot for the tree it becomes saprobic.

A lazy start as it was meh, then errands in Penrith.
Managed to get the first coat of varnish on the floor, two more to go then a few days to cure while I'm in the hills.

Later when it got nicer Missy had her first longer walk since her op. Still on the extendable lead until (hopefully) the Vet signs get off at tomorrow's checkup. She's still not fully herself, but her mischievieous (& adorable) sparks are back.
