East Kyle of Bute

The kyles on a typical cloudy autumnal day. Kyle is the Gaelic word for 'strait'. This viewpoint gives a wonderful vista south to the Firth of Clyde in the distance. The landscape here resulted from the Ice Ages when the ice gouged and eroded the land into valleys which were subsequently flooded by the sea. (This is from the Tignabruaich Viewpoint maintained by the National Trust for Scotland.)
