There Was a Third One

A coyote parent and two youngsters, out for a forage on a thick foggy morning. They move pretty fast, and this was the only time they came out onto the path. I stalked them as best I could, until they loped across the open field and disappeared into the brush. How perfectly colored they are for their environment! And how thrilling it was to see them slide through the shrubbery.

It was indeed foggy, and stayed that way most of the day, keeping the temps lower and the air blessedly damper than it's been for some time. It was a good day.
