About to turn

11th and 12th

First day of school, all online. There's been an amazing effort by teachers and the schools to get ready for a more rigorous quarter than last spring. Things are strange, but no technical glitches today. Two more years of high school for our kids. Hopefully mostly in person.

We dumped a load of mulch on the flower bed in the front yard and are still tidying it up. This flower is actually a lovely blue, not purple - "Everest Blue" Ageratum.

Somehow, in between working and trying to improve on my efforts to make a decent chai tea latte (extra...but it's not right yet), I got to reading about cartoonist Bill Watterson, he of Calvin & Hobbes fame. He based some of the strips in the little town where I grew up, Chagrin Falls, Ohio, and Mom and I were trying to remember some connections there. One of the hills Calvin and Hobbes fly down on their sled is the big hill down into the center of town. Scene of an illicit pumpkin roll every Halloween, or used to be. :)
